Our location

The Torres Foundation's office suite is located on the fourth level of the Capital Plaza mall building at the bottom of Frederick Street in the heart of Trinidad's capitol: Port-of-Spain. The mall is home to many government offices; various retail outlets; and several local food restaurants.

Frederick Street is the pulsating commertial and transportation hub in the city. It is also one of the main centers of Trinidad's world famous Carnival masquerade that is a prelude to the lentil season.

Independence Square and The Brian Lara Promenade is a half a block south. The promenade was named after the legendary Trinidad and Tobago cricket great Brian Charles Lara also known as the Prince of Port-of-Spain. His world record cricket score of 400 in a test match against the English has yet to be surpassed.

A block and a half North is Woodford Square, locally referred to as the University of Woodford Square because of the many political rallies, spontaneous demonstrations, and impromptu debates and lectures that take place there in the Trafalgar Square tradition.

On the west side of Woodford Square is the Red House. It is the seat of Parliament in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. In 1897 the building that previously occupied the current address was painted red to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It was thereafter referred to as the Red House. The building was burnt to the ground in the Water Riots of 1903. In 1907 the Red House was rebuilt in a Greek revival architectural style and is among the most attractive buildings in the city.
